Kieran Kane and Rayna Gellert share the stage at Natalie’s for a special evening of music.
Kieran’s songs have been recorded by a number of major artists over the last 30 years, including John Prine, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Emmylou Harris, Alan Jackson, Tom Jones, Don Williams, and The Trio (Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris).Kieran is perhaps best known as one half of the acclaimed new traditionalist country duo the O’Kanes, who scored a half-dozen Top Ten singles before disbanding four years later. Kane later collaborated with Nashville crooner Kevin Welch and multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin on a series of spare, moody originals and covers.
Rayna Gellert grew up in a musical family, and has spent most of her life immersed in the sounds of music, heartfelt gospel songs, and old ballads. After honing her fiddle skills playing at jam sessions and rural stringband square dances, Rayna fell into a life of traveling and performing. Her fiddle albums are widely celebrated in the old-time music community, and she has recorded with a host of musicians in a variety of styles – including Robyn Hitchcock, Tyler Ramsey, Sara Watkins, Loudon Wainwright III, John Paul Jones, and Abigail Washburn. Her new album, Workin’s Too Hard, co-produced with Kieran Kane, carries forward her promise as both a singer and songwriter.
