The Relentless Mules’ banjo, bass, fiddle, guitar and mandolin anchor the sweet singing of the band’s energetic and heartfelt vocalists. This outfit draws from the classic song- books of Flatt and Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe and beyond. Their presentation of these songs is both true to form and a modern expression by these emerging artists.
The instrumental strength of each individual is the foundation of the band’s powerful momentum. Daniel Phelps’ mastery of bluegrass guitar stems from his true blue Kentucky upbringing. Dan Cade on fiddle has performed with Dave Evans and Riverbend. The five-string banjo is wielded by firebrand Glenn Rinehart, who drives this mule train with his ruthless right hand. The keystone of the Mules’ push is doghouse bass player Chris Stevens, who will be right at the center of everything. The mandolin duties will be in the good hands of either Scott Atkins or Randy Thomas.
