Presented by Bob Teague & Friends
- This event has passed.
The dynamic Billy Price Band will share the evening with the great Bill Toms & Hard Rain for “Soul to Soul Revue,” a special double bill not to be missed! Billy Price’s album Reckoning was nominated for Best Soul Blues Album of 2018, and Bill Toms’ performances have become legendary in sheer power and passion.
2016 Blues Music Award winner Billy Price first attracted national attention during his three-year association with guitarist Roy Buchanan. Price is the vocalist on two of Buchanan’s LPs, That’s What I’m Here For and Live Stock. Since then, with the Keystone Rhythm Band, the Billy Price Band, and solo projects, Billy Price has recorded and released a total of 16 albums, CDs, and DVDs. In April 2016, he was officially recognized and inducted as a Pittsburgh Rock ’n Roll Legend at an award ceremony. Price’s album This Time for Real, with the late Chicago soul singer Otis Clay, received a 2016 Blues Music Award in the category of Best Soul Blues Album of 2015. His latest album, Dog Eat Dog, was released in August of this year to rave reviews. Blues guitarist Mike Zito plays on it.
Rock ‘n’ roll, soul, blues, and gospel so deep the earth moves, and the walls begin shakin’ as Bill Toms & Hard Rain start the train rolling. American music never sounded so good. Toms joined Pittsburgh’s legendary band Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers as lead guitarist in 1987. The band’s meteoric rise into the professional music scene enabled Toms to tour the United States and Europe repeatedly and they opened for and played with a long and impressive list of notables, including The Band, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Little Feat, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. During his 19 years of playing guitar and singing back-up vocals for the group, they recorded six studio albums and one live concert album, which includes American Babylon, recorded and produced by Bruce Springsteen.
