FLIPPO: Tribute to Herbie Hancock
***Please note: All shows at Natalie’s currently have socially distanced table seating, and masks are required except while eating and drinking at tables. Flippo presents a special tribute to the music of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters with a program titled “Hang Up Your Hang Ups”, which is a composition from Hancock’s influential album Man-Child, released in 1975. Herbie Hancock remains one of the most influential jazz pianists working today, and was one of the primary architects of the post-bop sound.
FLIPPO is a Columbus jazz group displaying instrumental virtuosity and creative energy in the spirit of sonic colors and innovation born of the “funk” and “jazz/rock fusion” movements of the 1970s and beyond. The band features Michael Cox on Sax, Dennis Hodges on guitar, Erik Augis on Keys, Andy Woodson on bass, Louis Tsamous on drums, Lucas Holmes on keyboards, and Hector Maldonado on percussion.
