Gospel Soul Brunch: E-Flat

The Gospel Soul Brunch Series, hosted by Debra James Tucker on the first Sunday of each month at Natalie’s, continues with the outstanding group E-Flat. Showtime is 2:30pm and our brunch menu is available from 11am until 3pm for these shows.
E-Flat was formed in 2013 by founder and band leader David Dennis and features some of the best musicians in Central Ohio. The members consist of David Dennis (saxophone), Jesse Leonard (bass guitar), Kabaka Ashe (keyboard) and Jerry Powell (drums). For this show, E-Flat will be featuring guest vocalist Cara Oden (Najoura). The band plays a mix of originals, smooth jazz, gospel, R&B and neo-soul. E-Flat has performed at a number of venues and events, including the Historic Lincoln Theatre.
The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer, winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music and an artist in residence with a number of youth arts organizations.
Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with the Derek DiCenzo Trio performing between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 2:30 p.m. and presents the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show will feature a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special created just for this series!
