Songwriter Showcase at Natalie’s presents Cheley Tackett, Trevor Larkin, and Ross Livermore in concert. Hosted by Eric Gnezda, this series, held the last Thursday of each month, features the finest regional and national singer-songwriters performing “in-the-round” in a wide range of styles, from Grammy and Kerrville winners to the best up-and-coming songwriters. Danika Holmes, who was scheduled to perform, is unable to make the show.
CHELEY TACKETT grew up in Springfield, Ohio. Her blend of lyrical intensity and melodic craftsmanship have earned her recognition and respect in Nashville, a town where being a stand-out is a rare achievement. American Country Magazine suggests Cheley’s song “Play the One I Like” “…might be the best song that I’ve heard this year so far.” Acclaimed as much for her songwriting as for her artistry, Cheley won the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk competition, among others. cheleytackett.com
TREVOR LARKIN, plays guitar in Allen Stone’s band, which has taken him to the stages of Conan, Leno, Letterman, the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Ellen. As part of the band, he’s also opened for Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Hall and Oates, and Dave Matthews Band. His first EP, Free From Me, features singles, “Stranded On An Island,” and “Jenny.” In January, he launched The Mind of a Trevor, a daily email newsletter where he shares my ideas on art, creativity and life as a musician. trevorlarkin.com
ROSS LIVERMORE has been described as a singer with “the kind of transcendent voice that silences rooms.” In his latest EP, This Is Not Forever, he reveals a collection of songs that are brazenly honest and infused with a confidence born from years on the road. These early shows allowed Livermore to explore his full range of influences, from Incubus, to Boyz II Men, to Al Green. His EP features an all-star band and was recorded live-to-tape at Nashville’s famed Welcome to 1979. rosslivermore.com
