Songwriter Showcase at Natalie’s presents a concert with Central Ohio legends John Schwab, Donna Mogavero, and Charlie Bleak. Hosted by Eric Gnezda, this series features the finest regional and national singer-songwriters, from Grammy and Kerrville winners to the best emerging artists. They perform “in-the-round,” representing a wide range of styles.
JOHN SCHWABis the founder of the legendary Columbus-based band, McGuffey Lane, whose hit, “Long Time Lovin’ You,” landed on the national charts and stayed at No. 1 in Ohio for 10 weeks. Still, if you ask him what he does for a living, he will probably say something like, “Hey, 40 years without a day job, not bad, huh?” What an understatement. John continues to be a mainstay of the music business in the region. He keeps his audiences happy with sold-out shows…songwriting… and recording. And still fronts one of the best party bands around. mcguffeylane.com
DONNA MOGAVEROis a four-time winner in The Greater Columbus Music Awards, bringing her audiences colorful reflections with a country beat, a folk song, a bluesy ballad, or straight up rock n roll. Taylor Guitars sponsored two of her national showcases, and she was one of the first artists to appear on the American Public Television series, Songs at the Center. Her album, Out of the Nest, was produced by Rob McNelly (Lady Antebellum, Bob Seger, The Judds). Her most recent album is LIVE, featuring just her acoustic guitar and vocals. donnamogaveromusic.com

Many years later, his song, “Who’s Gonna Help Me?” from the album Hoi Poi, was included in the soundtrack of the 2015 feature film, Digging for Fire.
