Soul Sunday: Copacetic

Hosted by Paisha Thomas

  • This event has passed.

Soul Sunday continues at Natalie’s with the group Copacetic. With their mix of jazz, gospel and soul, the musicians have firmly established themselves as a rising force in the world of smooth jazz. The group released their debut EP in August of 2017, which has received rave reviews from listeners near and far.  Since the release of their self-titled EP, Copacetic has captivated audiences with an eclectic music mix of smooth grooves, ear catching melodies, and energetic live performances. They have had the good fortune to grace the stage of the historic Lincoln Theatre to a sold-out audience, and also performed at the Columbus Jazz & Ribfest and Jazz at the Amp festivals. The members are made up of David Jordan (keys), Ed Hill (sax) and Derek Brown (guitar). Chris Brown (keys) will be sitting in for this event.

Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 3 pm, with the Derek DiCenzo TRio performing between 11 am and 1 pm. The Gospel Soul Brunch show begins at 2:30 pm and presents the best national and regional gospel artists, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show, hosted by Paisha Thomas, features a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 pm. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special sponsored by Smithfield Ham, created just for this series!

The monthly Soul Sunday evening shows are coordinated and hosted by the talented Paisha Thomas. Paisha is a locally-based entertainer who engages others through art with her singing and songwriting. She creates music about love, politics, self-discovery, and the condition of the world.
