Soul Sunday: Krate Digga’s Soulful Soular Celebration

Hosted by Paisha Thomas

  • This event has passed.

Soul Sunday continues at Natalie’s with a “Soulful Soular Celebration” with Krate Digga and DJ Bombay. Some tables and chairs will be removed for dancing, so come out and celebrate Krate’s birthday and soul music! This interactive show will feature classic soul tracks from various eras put together by the audio-visual genius of Krate.

DJ Krate Digga celebrated 20 years as a professional DJ in 2017. The past two decades have allowed Krate to successfully move beyond the scope of solely DJing into the realms of producing, arranging, teaching, recording, mentoring and most recently, executive producing a documentary. Krate has been instrumental in forming multiple DJ and performing collectives and crews, as well as being a member of Watu Utungo, The Free Agents, S.P.I.R.I.T., Ogun Meji and other bands.

DJ Bombay has made a name for himself as a tour DJ for Ohmega Watts, Diverse, Oh No and many others, as well as doing events such as Lollapalooza to Coachella. He has also worked as a producer with artists on Sony, Warner, Dreamworks and a handful of indie labels.

The monthly Soul Sunday evening shows are coordinated and hosted by the talented Paisha Thomas. Paisha is a locally based entertainer who engages others through art with her singing and songwriting. She creates music about love, politics, self-discovery and the condition of the world.

Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with the Derek DiCenzo Trio performing between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Gospel Show Brunch show begins at 2:30 p.m. and presents the best national and regional Gospel Artists in concert, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show will feature a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special created just for this series!
