Hosted by Paisha Thomas
- This event has passed.
Soul Sunday continues at Natalie’s with the incredible Nashville-based vocalist Talisha Holmes, who has been writing and performing as long as she can remember. In recent years, she has opened for and appeared in a variety of performances including Dwele, John Legend, Angie Stone, Eric Roberson, Donnie, Bobby Valentino, Darien Brockington (of Foreign Exchange), Rick Ross, Kelly Price, Anthony David, Talib Kweli, Anthony Hamilton, Styx, Stephanie Mills, members of The Ohio Players, Pharez Whitted, and others.
Talisha performs regularly in Nashville and occasionally in her hometown of Columbus with local bands The Liquid Crystal Project, Topher James and the Biscuit Brigade, The Musical Masters, The Deal Breakers, and many others including her own Talisha Holmes Duo (with Stuart Montez or Kyle Ingram) and The Talisha Holmes Ensemble. You may have also seen her performing with Mojoflo, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Evan Oberla Project (EOP), and other local groups. No matter who is on the bandstand, Talisha Holmes is known for giving both an energetic and intimate show. She specializes in an eclectic fusion of jazz, soul, pop, folk, electro and rock. She loves to dive into the music and allow it to take on the shape of the musicians, the audience, and flow of the show.
The monthly Soul Sunday evening shows are coordinated and hosted by the talented Paisha Thomas. Paisha is a locally based entertainer who engages others through art with her singing and songwriting. She creates music about love, politics, self-discovery, and the condition of the world.
Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 3 pm, with the Derek DiCenzo TRio performing between 11 am and 1 pm. The Gospel Soul Brunch show begins at 2:30 pm and presents the best national and regional gospel artists, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show, hosted by Paisha Thomas, features a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 pm. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special, sponsored by Smithfield Ham, created just for this series!
