Soul Sunday continues at Natalie’s with The Robert Mason Trio. Robert is a pianist, teacher, and arranger from Columbus who graduated from OSU with a BM in Jazz Studies and a minor in Music, Media and Enterprise. He has won numerous awards for jazz performance including the Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding musicians while still in high school. He also received several scholarships at OSU including the Atkin Jazz Scholarship, Tom Battenberg Jazz Scholarship, and the George and Janice Scantland Jazz Scholarship. Robert currently performs with a number of groups in Columbus including Fo/Mo/Deep, and his personal group The Robert Mason Trio. He also helps leads the worship band at Flintridge Community Church.
The monthly Soul Sunday evening shows are coordinated and hosted by the talented Paisha Thomas. Paisha is a locally-based entertainer who engages others through art with her singing and songwriting. She creates music about love, politics, self-discover and the conditions of the world.
Soul Sunday at Natalie’s is held on the first Sunday of each month, and includes a delicious Brunch from 11 am until 3 pm, with the Derek DiCenzo TRio performing between 11 am and 1 pm. The Gospel Soul Brunch show begins at 2:30 pm and presents the best national and regional gospel artists, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. The evening show, hosted by Paisha Thomas, features a variety of soul bands and artists starting at 8 pm. In addition to the regular menu, enjoy a soul food special, sponsored by Smithfield Ham, created just for this series!
